Under God's blessing, our opening mass and installation ceremony of student leaders were successfully held on 13 September 2024. We were honored to have Father Philip Chan, who always looks after the growth of students, as our celebrant.
In Father Philip Chan’s sermons, he mentioned the importance of staying healthy physically and mentally, which corresponded to our school theme this year, “Staying Active Staying Healthy”. He encouraged teachers and students to do exercise regularly. He also suggested that we should do sports for 30 minutes every day. Not only can doing sports help us stay healthy, but also strengthen the connections between teachers and students at school.
Moreover, he also shared a heartwarming personal experience with us. On rainy days, he noticed that many people were in a hurry in the morning. However, some people forgot to bring an umbrella and had to stay in the church to wait for the rain to subside. Father Philip Chan heeded this situation and decided to prepare some spare umbrellas outside the church. This small deed helped those people go to work punctually. In this example, he taught us to help people in need and God will bless people who are kind and helpful.
The installation ceremony of student leaders was then held after the opening mass. All student leaders were led to pledge by the Head Girl Core Group members in front of Father Philip Chan, Sr Magdalen Shiu (Supervisor), Ms Cara Cheng (Principal) and teachers. May God continue to bless all our teachers and students with a fruitful academic year.
