S6 Thanksgiving Mass

Under the loving kindness of God, the S6 Thanksgiving Mass was successfully held on 3 March 2023 at the School Hall.  We were honored to have Father Joseph Liu to preside over the Mass, blessing our S6 schoolmates with courage and strength as they faced their public exams and said their farewell to the last school day in HFCC.

The mass began with a video recorded by S6 students, reminiscing their cherished memories of their entire S6 school life. Many were touched and wept with joy, expressing gratitude throughout the entire thanksgiving mass.

In his homily, Father Liu underscored the importance of generosity.  He emphasized that in the pursuit of our growth, we should aim to give more, rather than just learn more.  We must understand that "it is more blessed to give than to receive."  Sacrificing our time or extending our helping hands to others can bring tremendous joy and fulfillment to our lives.  The satisfaction we receive from giving cannot be bought from anywhere or replaced by anything.  Giving is not just about what we can offer to others; it is also about the positive impact it has on our own happiness and sense of purpose.

Father Liu also highlighted our school's yearly theme, "Embracing Love, Exhibiting Gratefulness." He exhorted us to always be grateful and loving towards those we care for, even in our bright future.  Father Liu blessed all of our schoolmates to fill with knowledge, knacks, and strength, as well as to be able to forgive those we may be angry with, let go of negative thoughts, and forget our sorrows to embrace the fruitful life ahead.

In closing, we pray that our dear God Lord blesses and keeps all our S6 students, giving them the strength and perseverance to conquer every ordeal they may face in life.
