With the blessing of our Heavenly Father, the 50th Anniversary Thanksgiving Mass cum Kick-off Ceremony was successfully held on 12 August 2022. We were honoured to have Rev. Benedict Lam to officiate the Mass and to join the celebration of our Golden Jubilee.
The theme of the Thanksgiving Mass, love one another (John 15: 1-17), represents the core values of Holy Familians and the vitality of our school. We were inspired that small acts of kindness could make a big difference and bring about positive changes. Moreover, cultivating talents require perseverance. We thank all our forerunners and those who contributed to the well-being of our school.
The Mass was followed by the Kick-off Ceremony of our 50th Anniversary Celebration. Our STEM Prefects prepared an innovative video illustrating the daily routine of Holy Familians by colourful Gigo Blocks and a domino chain reaction. The highlight of the celebration was the moment when the prefects lighted the fire torches and passed them on to Rev. Benedict Lam, Principal Ms Cara Cheng, the Assistant Principal Ms Christine Leung and the Deputy Head Girl Ella Chen. The Ceremony reached its climax as the guests lighted the 50th Anniversary fire pit. Ms Cheng then addressed the Ceremony, reminding us to follow the footsteps of our Foundress, St. Magdalene of Canossa, to keep the practice of love and unity in this pink learning community. Last but not least, the newly-innovated School Library was introduced and blessed by Rev. Benedict Lam. The School Library will contribute to students’ self-directed learning with its new design, new division of area and new facilities.
The overall theme of the anniversary celebration is “Holy Family Golden Jubilee with Joy We Uphold and Celebrate Our Legacy”. Our students will continue to embrace the beauty of life and shine in their own unique ways. May God continue to bless Holy Family Canossian College.
